Player and Billy Buffalo Appearance Procedures & Guidelines

The Buffalo Bills are excited about the high level of enthusiasm surrounding the Bills and thank all our fans for their support. As part of the community outreach of the Buffalo Bills, players will make non-gratuitous appearances for non-profit organizations, schools and civic functions based on their availability. The following information will explain our procedures and guidelines to assist you with your Appearance Request, specifically as it relates to the Bills potential involvement.

Please keep in mind; appearances cannot be made during mini-camps, training camp (July/August) or during the playoffs. During the season, players are unable to make appearances that are 72 hours prior to a game. Appearance requests during the off-season are limited due to the availability of players residing in Western New York.

All requests for player(s) or staff appearances must be submitted in writing at least 4 - 6 weeks in advance of your event.

Written request must be submitted on organizations' official letterhead and include:

  • Organizations Name, Full Address and Telephone Number
  • Type of Event/ Program
  • Contact person's name
  • Day, date, time and length of event
  • Event location
  • Specific role of player(s) and staff member(s)
  • Number of people at the event
  • Directions and estimated drive time to the event location

Requests will be responded to in writing. Approved appearances will receive a confirmation telephone call from a representative from the Bills prior to the event. As a result of numerous requests each week, the process can be lengthy. Please be patient.

Helpful Hint

It is highly recommended that your event be not centered on an appearance by a player or staff member, but rather should be approached as a complimentary element to your program. The Bills are unable to fulfill many requests due to scheduling conflicts.

Appearance Guidelines

  • The Buffalo Bills must approve any form of advertising that promotes an appearance by Billy Buffalo.
  • Billy Buffalo attends events to make them fun for all. Please maintain a friendly and safe environment.
  • Billy Buffalo reserves the right to walk away from any appearance that he deems unsafe or harmful (no refunds).
  • Please provide an unmarked parking space located close to the appearance area and parking pass if necessary.
  • You must provide a private, secure, and clean dressing room for the performer. Restrooms are not an acceptable
    dressing room.
  • Upon receipt of this request, a Buffalo Bills representative will contact you to discuss rates and availability
  • Please designate a responsible adult as a “body guard” for Billy Buffalo to manage the crowd and keep Billy safe.
  • Any event that is more than 90 miles round trip will be subject to a travel charge of $.55 per mile.
  • The Buffalo Bills are not liable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of the Bills mascot.
