On January 4, 2012 the Buffalo Bills announced a multi-year radio broadcasting partnership with Entercom Communications to broadcast all Bills football games on WGR (550 AM) in Buffalo beginning with the 2012 season. John Murphy will continue to handle the play-by-play duties with the color commentary coming from former Bills defensive back Mark Kelso.

Murphy is entering his 27th season as part of the broadcast team and 10th as the play-by-play voice of the Bills.

Kelso enters his ninth season as the color analyst for the Buffalo Bills Radio Network. Known for his intelligence and savvy on the field, Kelso supplies those same intangibles to the Bills broadcast team. Kelso enjoyed an eight-year NFL career with Buffalo (1986-1993) and served as the starting free safety for the final seven seasons of his career.

Live play-by-play audio of every Bills game is available online from the official flagship radio station with the NFL Audio Pass. Fans can also access live WGR Bills coverage throughout the week on the Bills mobile app for smart phones.

The John Murphy Show

The John Murphy Show – hosted by Buffalo Bills radio play-by-play voice John Murphy – is entering its third year.

Presented by NOCO, The John Murphy Show broadcasts live throughout the year from One Bills Drive on weekdays from 7-9 p.m. and can be heard on local airwaves via WGR 550 (Buffalo) and Sports Radio 950 AM ESPN (Rochester), as well as on the Buffalo Bills Mobile App and via iTunes podcast.

The show provides nightly guests, player interviews, call-in segments and unprecedented access to the team. Year one of The John Murphy Show featured more than unique guests, including exclusive interviews with national media personalities such as ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Berman along with Bills head coach Doug Marrone and former Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.

“As we move into the third year of the radio show, I’m very excited about what’s in store for the team and for our radio listeners. I think we’ve established ourselves as the ‘go-to’ source of information and entertainment about the Bills on the radio,” said Murphy. “I love interacting with Bills fans from Western New York and all over the continent, and I look forward to hearing from more of them in the upcoming season.”

The John Murphy Show launched in Buffalo on July 26, 2012 and debuted in the Rochester market on April 15, 2013.
