5 things to know about WR Kolby Listenbee

Posted Apr 30, 2016

TCU WR Kolby Listenbee is not an easy receiver to catch, but there's more to him than his speed. Here's more on Buffalo's first sixth-round pick.

1 – Speed to burn
The Bills sixth-round pick is a speedster who can stretch the field to say the least. A deep threat specialist, Listenbee ran a 4.34 40 time at the TCU pro day. He also had a 35 ½-inch vertical leap with both numbers strong indicators of his explosion. His average of almost 20 yards a reception (19.9) demonstrates his big play ability.

2 – Has been to Orchard Park before
Listenbee spent some time at One Bills Drive as he met with coaches on a pre-draft visit.

3 – A former quarterback
The Bills new receiver is a former high school quarterback. Listenbee passed for more than 1,200 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior QB. At TCU he threw a touchdown pass in the Peach Bowl against Ole Miss on a trick play.

4 – An All-American in track
Possessing the speed that he does, Listenbee also ran track at TCU. He competed in the 100, 200 and 400 meters as well as the 4x100 relay. He was a four-time All-American for the Horned Frogs. One of his best times in the 100 meters was a 10.04 in 2015.

5 – Sharpened route running
From 2014 to 2015 Listenbee worked hard to diversify his route running ability. More capable of running underneath routes this past season enabled him to set up defensive backs better when he did go deep.
