Bills re-sign Corner; Eddins to I-R

With veteran cornerback Terrence McGee sidelined indefinitely with a hamstring injury, the Bills re-signed a free agent cornerback that intimately familiar with Buffalo’s defensive scheme. Buffalo signed Reggie Corner on Wednesday.

Corner, a former fourth-round pick of the Bills (2008), has appeared in 44 games for the Bills in his three-year career including 12 starts. Serving primarily as a slot corner, the Akron product has logged 18 pass breakups, an interception and forced fumble in his career with Buffalo.

He fortifies a cornerback contingent that had been reduced to just four healthy bodies after McGee suffered a severe hamstring injury that will keep him out at last three weeks. Having been in training camp with the Bills this summer as well as the preseason Corner is expected to be able to step right in and play a role in Buffalo’s secondary.

Eddins to injured reserve
To make room on the 53-man roster for Corner, the Bills placed rookie OLB Robert Eddins on injured reserve. Eddins was the lone undrafted rookie to make the opening day roster. The Ball State product had a solid preseason and training camp earning him a spot on the squad.
