Bills renew partnership with NY’s 529 College Savings Program

Posted Jun 12, 2013

The Buffalo Bills today announced a renewed partnership with NY’s 529 College Savings Program. The Bills and NY’s 529 College Savings Program are teaming up once again to present the Become the Buffalo Bills Junior GM for a Day contest.

Under this contest, one lucky boy or girl will win the opportunity to spend the day with Bills General Manager Doug Whaley. In addition, the winner will receive breakfast, lunch, a gift bag and a personalized Buffalo Bills jersey. Last year’s winner was 10-year old Carson Kruk from Williamsville, NY.

To enter, participants will visit the contest page on buffalobills.com (www.buffalobills.com/JrGM) and submit their answers to three short answer questions as to why they have what it takes to be the Buffalo Bills Junior GM for a Day.

Twelve contestants will be chosen to join Buffalo Bills employees at One Bills Drive for live interview sessions. Each contestant will read their short answer questions aloud, answer follow-up questions and make tough decisions regarding the Bills roster and a grand prize winner will be chosen.

“The contest to ‘Become the Buffalo Bills Junior GM for a Day’ is a great way for younger Bills fans and their parents to interact with the team,” said Bruce Popko, Bills Senior Vice President of Business Development. “This opportunity will provide the winner with an exclusive, one-on-one experience to understand how we continually look to improve the Bills roster.”

“We are thrilled to be able to offer someone a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend the day with Doug Whaley, meet his staff, Bills coaches and players for a unique, engaging experience,” said Ludmila Palasin, Associate Director at The Media Kitchen, the agency for NY’s 529 College Savings Program.

The contest is open to legal residents in New York State ages 8-12 as of June 8, 2013. The sweepstakes will run from June 8 through November 1, 2013. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, or someone with a special child in your life, New York's 529 College Savings Program Direct Plan can make saving for your child's future easier.
