Bills sign WR Rashad Ross; waive Kolby Listenbee

Posted Jun 6, 2017

The Bills made an addition to their roster at receiver, but it's not the free agent most fans have been thinking about the past few days.

The Bills added to their receiver ranks on Tuesday, it’s just not who many Bills fans might have been expecting. Buffalo signed free agent WR Rashad Ross.

Ross, 27, spent the last two seasons with Washington, appearing in 18 games and serving primarily as a kick returner. The Arizona State product has 4.4 speed and worked out for the Bills on Monday.

After going undrafted in 2013, he was originally signed by the Tennessee Titans where he spent time on their practice squad. Over the year or so he was on the practice squads for Kansas City, Chicago and Washington, before landing a role with Washington in 2015 as a return specialist.

His career-long return is a 101-yard effort in the 2015 season for Washington.

To make room on the roster for Ross, the Bills waived WR Kolby Listenbee with a non-football injury designation. Since undergoing groin surgery last spring, Listenbee has experienced complications with his recovery which prompted a follow up procedure.

He was not medically cleared to participate in OTA practices and has never taken the field as a full-scale practice participant since Buffalo made him a sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft.
