C.J. Spiller: "We still lost and that’s all that matters"

Bills running back C.J. Spiller talked after the Bills 23-13 loss to the Chiefs about the big plays that the offense has been missing and talks about how his ankle feels after the game.

Q: Can you talk about the big plays you were able to deliver?

A: Offensive line and tight ends and wide receivers did a great job blocking. Just trying to make a couple plays, a couple guys miss, just try to give us a spark.

Q: How encouraging was it to see the big-play ability, which has been missing from this offense?

A: Marquise Goodwin had a great day stretching the field. That’s something that we need. That’s something that we’ve been missing since I’ve been here, a guy that can back them safeties up. Like I said all week, I feel good. I feel like the spring is coming back. It’s still not back but it’s definitely very close. Today was very encouraging for me.

Q: Was that an inside zone play that was working well for you and Fred Jackson?

A: It was a little inside zone that we just ran and pretty much just reading the defense. And like I said, our offensive line did a great job.

Q: What kind of taste does this leave in your mouth after having the best rushing day of the season as a team?

A: To me, I don’t get caught up in the stats. It’s a great day to run the ball as well as we did today against a good team. They’re 9-0 for a reason. At the end of the day, we still lost and that’s all that matters.
