Bills feature back
Fred Jackson: "I'll definitely be back"— Buffalo Bills (@buffalobills) September 12, 2012
“Hopefully sooner, but I’ll definitely be back in four weeks,” said Jackson. “Without a doubt.”
That would peg Jackson's return to come in Week 5 when the Bills play the 49ers in San Francisco.
Jackson confirmed that it’s only a sprained ligament after having an MRI on Monday.
“No tear. I’m good,” he said. “Obviously I’m not where I want to be right now, but I feel good after looking at the film and then getting evaluated. So hopefully things happen sooner rather than later.”
The Bills back confirmed that he will get re-evaluated in about a week, but not because they couldn’t get a definitive look at his injured knee on the initial MRI.
“I’m actually not quite sure where that came from because we got a good picture of what we saw and we’re going with what the picture did say,” he said. “What we’re going to go re-evaluate is my healing. That’s what we’re going to look at in seven to 10 days. We’ve got a good picture of it and know what we need to do to get it right.”
Some fans were not happy with the hit delivered by the Jets’ LaRon Landry. The safety however, was impeded by a fellow teammate and dove at Jackson hitting him just above the knee on the play caving in Jackson’s left leg forcing all of his body weight on his right leg.
“I was able to get my left leg out from under me so that saved my left leg and my right leg just took the brunt of it,” said Jackson. “But again I was blessed to come away from it with the minor injury I did get.
“It’s just how you get hit sometimes. Sometimes you get hit low and I got hit low. He did what he thought he had to do to bring me down, and I’m not going to tell him how he’s supposed to tackle me. I don’t have a problem with it.”
At this point Jackson has moved past what happened last Sunday, and is more focused on what lies ahead.
“It’s about getting the knee healthy and strong again so I can get out there and play well,” said Jackson.
