Posted Feb 17, 2017

Pegula Sports and Entertainment today announced two promotions within PSE’s executive management team.

Pegula Sports and Entertainment announced today the promotions of Bruce Popko and Erica Muhleman within PSE’s executive management team. Popko has been elevated to Chief Operating Officer, while Muhleman has been promoted to the role of Executive Vice President of Business Development.

“Since launching PSE almost three years ago, our business operation has grown considerably,” Kim Pegula said. “Bruce and Erica have both been instrumental in the merging of many aspects of the Bills and Sabres business operations, along with HarborCenter and the many additional entities under our umbrella. We are going to rely on their experience to help identify future needs and orchestrate the expansion of our operation going forward.”

“Under Bruce’s leadership, our business development department has been the driving force behind the necessary growth of our Bills and Sabres properties,” added Russ Brandon, PSE’s Managing Partner and President. “Bruce brings an unmatched understanding of the business of sports and is highly respected by our hard working staff. His insight is vital to our success.”

The remainder of PSE’s executive leadership team continues to serve the roles as follows. Brandon continues oversight of PSE’s vision as the organization’s Managing Partner and President. Frank Cravotta serves as EVP of Creative Services. Chuck LaMattina is EVP of Finance. Mark Preisler is EVP of Media and Content. Brent Rossi serves as EVP of Marketing & Brand Strategy, and Gregg Brandon is EVP and General Counsel.

As PSE’s Chief Operating Officer, Bruce Popko will oversee all day-to-day operations of PSE entities. Popko spent most of the last three years as PSE’s EVP of Business Development, and oversaw expansion of the department in the summer of 2014 to combine many of the operations of the Bills, Sabres, HarborCenter and additional PSE properties. He originally joined the Bills in 2009 to lead the business development department. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Stern School of Business at New York University, Popko also serves as director of the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Buffalo Sabres Foundation, and is a member of the board of directors for the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, Nardin Academy and the WNY Lacrosse Foundation.

“It’s humbling to receive an opportunity with this level of responsibility and I am honored to be entrusted by the Pegulas and Russ,” Popko said. “PSE has grown into an organization that oversees four sports franchises, operating in three venues, along with HarborCenter and a myriad of additional properties. With the help of PSE’s unparalleled resources, I am eager to begin management of this complex collection of entities and help maximize their operation.”

Erica Muhleman advances to Executive Vice President of Business Development after serving as PSE’s VP of Corporate Partnerships. She joined the Bills in 2009, holding various leadership positions in the business development department until her expansion to PSE in 2016. Muhleman graduated from Ohio University and earned a masters degree from Cleveland State University. She also serves on the board of directors for Orchard Park Boys and Girls Club and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Western New York, and is a Leadership Buffalo graduate.

“The rapid growth of our first class organization has created numerous opportunities for PSE and our partners to make a tremendous effect on the local community,” Muhleman said. “I greatly appreciate the confidence the organization has shown in me to further our impact as we continue to accelerate relationships with our partners across all PSE entities. It is an honor to join PSE’s executive leadership team and to help our organization continue its growth.”
