Stevie Johnson: "Our offense has to pick up the slack"

Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson talked about the team fighting through injuries, trying to keep pace with the Saints offense and clicking with Bills quarterback Thad Lewis after the 35-17 loss to the Saints.

“We knew coming in that we had to score because we know that’s a great offensive team. I don’t want to say no team can shut them (Saints) out, but what you have to do is contain them. So our offense knew coming in that they had to put up points. I was proud of our defense, because for the most part they held them until the second half. Our offense has to pick up the slack and we didn’t do that today.”

“Most of us got dinged up out there but we had to play through it. And we have another tough team to prepare for. So right now we have to heal quick and just get ready for Kansas City.”

(on Thad Lewis) “It just showed his toughness today. At the end of day we all knew, as a team, that he took some real hard hits. He’s a real tough guy because I knew he was hurting today.”
