The Bills went through the process of retaining their rights to tight end
Though Dickerson appeared in 11 games with Buffalo in 2012 and caught nine passes for 117 yards he was used sparingly on offense by the previous coaching staff. It will be interesting to see how Dickerson is used in Buffalo’s new offensive system under coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Knowing Buffalo’s new offense will be well rooted in West Coast principles, there could be a bigger role for Dickerson as an H-back or move tight end in the Bills new system.
As an exclusive rights free agent once tendered by the club, signing is essentially a formality as Dickerson can only sign with Buffalo.
The 6-1, 226-pound Pittsburgh product signed with the Bills as a free agent last May and originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round (227th overall) draft choice of Houston.
Dickerson will turn 25-years old at the end of the month.
