Thad Lewis: "They threw the kitchen sink at us"

Bills quarterback spoke to the media after the 35-17 loss to the Saints about not only his own toughness, but the team's ability to fight through nagging injuries.

“We knew the pressure was going to be there – that’s what all teams will do. And I thought in the beginning we adjusted real well. But the Saints kept coming and that’s what led to some of the early turnovers.”

“There was no doubt in my mind that after the very first hit that I was going back in the game. I never doubted that – I just took some time to catch my breath because I had the wind knocked out of me a little bit, but I was fine and I just told the docs (doctors) that I was going back out there.”

“There’s nothing you can do about it (fumbles) when you are about to throw the football and a guy is standing there and hits you. Yeah, the first one was on me but the next ones when you get a little pressure and you get ready to throw the football the defense just makes a great play.”

“We’re a resilient team. I mean we’re not going to make any excuses as I have to give my hat off to the Saints as they did a great job and they beat us today. But being resilient isn’t good enough. We’re never satisfied with that. So we just have to get over the hump and we just can’t get behind like we did out there today.”
