The injured list had a few additions coming out of Sunday’s game against the Titans. The good news was the two players that went down in the game and did not return shouldn’t be out for long.

Rookie cornerback Aaron Williams, who started the last two games sustained a knee injury in the first half and did not return. He limped to the sidelines under his own power after the injury. Fortunately MRI results revealed that the injury was not serious.

“Not as bad as it could’ve been,” said head coach Chan Gailey. “I don’t know if he’ll play this week, but I think he’s got a real shot for the next game.”

Williams had just returned from a sterno-clavicular joint injury in his chest that kept him out for six weeks. Sunday was his third game back.

The news isn’t all that different for tight end Scott Chandler. He suffered an ankle injury early in the third quarter on the pass play in which he was stripped of the ball leading to a turnover.

“Chandler he’s kind of in the same boat,” Gailey said. “It’d be hard to get him back this week, but there’s an outside chance we get him back.”

Chandler would no doubt be looking forward to facing the team that drafted him back in 2007.

Wilson still iffy
George Wilson, who has been forced to endure a slow healing process in his recovery from a neck stinger in Week 10, was in the Bills locker room Monday but had to hurry in for treatment with athletic trainers.

Gailey is not confident that he’ll have his strong safety for Sunday’s game.

“He’s got an outside chance at most,” said Gailey. “I’m not very optimistic right now.”

Wilson has missed three straight games.

Rian Lindell may also not be quite ready for a return as his broken shoulder has not healed completely.

“They still have questions about him trying to tackle (on kickoffs),” said Gailey. “The x-rays are not as clean as we would like so I don’t know where we are to be honest with you.”

Dave Rayner is the likely game day kicker for the Bills Sunday.
