Dixon, who had a workout in front of the Bills pro personnel department and offensive coaches over the weekend, was most recently with the Philadelphia Eagles in training camp. The 28-year old is a former fifth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2008.
He has appeared in four NFL games in his career, with the last game action coming in the 2010 season for Pittsburgh. In limited NFL action Dixon has completed just over 59 percent of his passes with a touchdown and two interceptions. He also has a rushing touchdown in his career.
Dixon (6-3, 215) will run Buffalo’s scout team offense each week to get the Bills starting defense ready for the upcoming opponent.
