With a new coaching staff in Buffalo there was bound to be change on the roster. No position on the roster to this point has witnessed more change, however than wide receiver. A week after the Bills announced they were parting ways with restricted free agent Donald Jones and would not tender him a qualifying offer, they’ve decided not to extend a qualifying offer to fellow restricted free agent receiver David Nelson.
“We spoke with David Nelson’s agent this morning and informed him that we will not tender David,” said Bills GM Buddy Nix.
Knowing he'll become an unrestricted free agent come March 12th, Nelson addressed the news on his Twitter account.

Nelson, who tore his ACL in the season opener last season against the Jets missed the last 15 games of the season. He was the team’s second-leading receiver in 2011 with 61 receptions.
The former undrafted rookie however, is best suited for a spread offense. Buffalo’s new offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, is expected to run an offensive system more rooted in the West Coast attack. It’s expected to have more traditional pro-style sets.
With Nelson not expected to return to the fold, Buffalo’s roster has just six receivers, and top wideout 
Buffalo is fully expected to add receiver talent via free agency or the draft that’s capable of coming in and making an immediate impact in the Bills passing game.
