“The update on Mario is he had a procedure done to relieve some discomfort in his wrist and we expect him back for practice this week,” said head coach Chan Gailey. “That’s all I know at this point.”
Wednesday’s practice was the first that Williams missed all season as he played in each of Buffalo’s first seven games. Gailey said Williams will re-join the team on Monday.
“They told me what happened and said he’ll be ready next week,” said Gailey. “He’ll be at practice next week. That’s what I understand. That’s what I was told.”

“It was obviously bothering him,” said Kelsay. “He’s come out and said that. This is a good time for him getting a week off and letting that thing settle down a little bit.”
Buffalo’s head coach is hopeful that the procedure performed on Williams’ wrist will push it to the back of his mind when he’s on the field.
“Every advantage you can get mentally for every player is great,” said Gailey. “Everything that makes them feel better about playing, it helps.”

“I think he’s on track they tell me that they haven’t ruled out Houston, but they think the next one he’s got a real good chance,” said Gailey.
The next game after Houston is Buffalo’s Week 10 divisional matchup at New England.
