Williams two sacks came at an opportune time. Trailing by one point (21-20), the veteran pass rusher’s first sack led to a third-and-long just after the Dolphins had moved into Buffalo territory. The drive for Miami ended with a punt instead of insurance points.
On the ensuing Dolphins possession Williams made a direct impact on the outcome of the game with a sack on 2nd-and-8 at midfield with 2:57 left in the game when his second sack of Tannehill also forced a fumble, which Buffalo recovered.
That led to the game-winning field goal drive as Buffalo went ahead for good with just 36 seconds remaining.

Williams also contributed three tackles and two quarterback hits to the win. For Williams it’s his second AFC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season. He also won the weekly award back in Week 2, when he had a career-high 4.5 sacks in Buffalo’s one-point win over Carolina.
It’s the fourth time in Williams’ career that he’s won the weekly honor. Click here to view the Bills All-Time weekly award list.
