OT Glenn signs with Bills

Posted May 18, 2012

Another day another signing for the Bills 2012 draft class. A day after top pick Stephon Gilmore signed his rookie contract, second-round pick Cordy Glenn followed suit with the offensive tackle putting pen to paper late Friday morning at One Bills Drive.

"There are a lot of things that have to go into it as far as from a business standpoint that you have to deal with," Glenn told Buffalobills.com moments after signing. "Now it's behind me and I can really just focus on working and getting better in football. I'm at the facility working out and getting to know some of my teammates. It's time to start focusing on the season."

Glenn was the offensive tackle prospect the Bills had their eye on early on in the pre-draft process. He made a pre-draft visit to One Bills Drive prior to the draft and struck up a rapport with offensive line coach Joe D'Alessandris. Fresh off the rookie minicamp Glenn believes he's already made improvements to his game.

"Things are going great," said Glenn. "It's part of the coach and player relationship. He's telling me what to do and showing me how to do things. I'm just trying to listen to him and learn as much as I can from him."

Glenn (6'5" 345) lined up at left tackle for all four practices of the team’s rookie minicamp last week. He’s expected to compete primarily with second-year tackle Chris Hairston for the starting left tackle post.

“This is another level,” said Glenn of the NFL. “It’s good to have all of that college experience, but it’s still another step, a new process and I’m just trying to help out this team.”

“I think he’s just tapped the potential at left tackle,” said head coach Chan Gailey. “In our evaluation, we think he can go a long way at left tackle.”

Glenn is the eighth of Buffalo’s nine draft choices to sign. Only third-round pick T.J. Graham remains unsigned.
