In an appearance on the John Murphy Show on Bills flagship station WGR Sportsradio 550, just three hours before the opening of free agency, Whaley confirmed that there are offers out to all of their unrestricted players.
Concerning where things stand with Byrd, Whaley said there is nothing new.
“Status quo,” he said. “The lines of communication are open and we still have until four until we’re the exclusive signing people, but we’ll see. The clock is ticking.”
Whaley reiterated as he did last week that the contract extension handed to fellow safety
The organization has maintained that they’d like to re-sign kicker
“We’ve been aggressive with both of those guys,” Whaley said. “They have some offers on the table and we hope to hear back from them. We hope to sign both of those guys.”
Whaley also confirmed that the Bills have offers on the table for free agent DL
“The ball is in their court,” said Whaley. “We’re waiting to hear back from those guys and hopefully we hear back from them before 4 pm.”
Kolb situation unchanged
The Bills also have a decision to make on QB
Buffalo may have to make a decision as to whether the relationship between the Bills and Kolb will continue, but Whaley made it clear they want to wait on the medical evaluation.
“Still status quo,” he said. “We haven’t heard anything from the medical staff so that’s what we have to wait on.”
