Wood: We All Need To Step Up

Posted Sep 11, 2012

We always hear about the “24-hour rule” for the players, but does that really hold true for the players?  Bills center Eric Wood said on The John Murphy Show that there absolutely is one and you spend that time thinking about all of the different things you could have done better.  He said this one weighed pretty heavy on his mind, especially after losing the “heart and soul” of the team for a month, running back Fred Jackson.  Wood said that he was relieved to hear it wouldn’t be longer, but knows that just means that everyone else has to step it up.

Buffalo’s wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell will not have his father, Jack, at the game this weekend, and it’s because Jack’s other son (Jack Jr.) is the offensive line coach for the Chiefs.  Jack Bicknell was a great coach at Boston College, and best known for being there the day of Doug Flutie’s legendary Hail Mary pass.  Jack said he never could understand why “the other guy” got the start over Flutie for the Bills.  Bicknell also commented on head coach Chan Gailey, who Jack coached against in college, saying, I have a ton of respect for Chan.”

Local film makers Phil Gangi and Pete Tasca stopped by their studio to talk about their new documentary “Almost a Dynasty,” reflecting on the Buffalo Bills in the 1990’s.  Their angle was to show people that Buffalonians don’t look at that era with dismay, but with pride that our team could be so dominant for so long.  For more info on the film, click here.  Also we will be giving away a pair of tickets to the premiere on The John Murphy Show all of this week and next week at 7:45pm each night.
