Bills WR Easley under contract

Posted Jun 16, 2010

The Bills methodical process of getting their nine member draft class took another step forward with the signing of fourth-round pick Marcus Easley. The wide receiver officially signed following the team’s OTA practice session on Wednesday.

“I’ve definitely breathed a sigh of relief,” Easley told Buffalobills.com. “It’s a lot of emotions all at once. I was looking forward to this day for a while and just the fact that it came and I was able to sign on the dotted line is truly a blessing.”

Easley has performed admirably in the spring practice setting as he’s made his share of big plays in the passing game while displaying a set of strong hands. Though the rookie receiver can see progress in his game he’s making a point of keeping an even-keeled nature about his learning curve.

“The goal of OTAs is to come out and get better each day, minimize the mistakes and compete,” said Easley. “The rookie minicamp I just felt like I was out there running around and now I’m starting to understand what’s going on with the offensive schemes and what the coaches are looking for me to do.”

Only Buffalo’s top three draft picks, C.J. Spiller, Torell Troup and Alex Carrington remain unsigned with six weeks to go until the report date for Bills training camp in late July.

To make room for Easley on Buffalo’s roster the Bills waived LB Mike Wright. Wright signed with the club as an undrafted rookie free agent in May.
