5th year in the NFL

3rd year with the Bills

D’Alessandris is entering his third season with the Buffalo Bills as the team’s offensive line coach and oversees a group that rose to the top of the NFL in 2011 by allowing the fewest sacks in the league (23). Below is a list of the offensive line accomplishments under D’Alessandris’ guidance:
Despite eight different offensive line starting lineups in 2011, D’Alessandris’ line held their opponents to an NFL-best 23 sacks - third-fewest in a Bills 16-game season

Buffalo’s offensive line helped pave the way for an AFC-best 4.9 rushing yards per carry in 2011 - the fourth-best average in team history and the highest since 1975

The Bills’ offensive line opened the running lanes for seven individual 100-yard rushing performances in 2011 - third-most in the NFL.

The offensive line also helped produce the first season in Bills history in 2011 to feature two running backs that posted a 5.0 yards per carry average or better (Fred Jackson - 5.5 and  C.J. Spiller - 5.2)

The Bills featured seven different offensive line combinations in 2010

In 2010, the line was instrumental in helping the rushing offense rank tied for sixth in the AFC with 4.3 rushing yards per carry average.

Line allowed just 34 sacks in 2010 to rank 15th in the NFL, 12 less than the 2009 total

Prior to joining the Bills, D’Alessandris spent 2008-09 as the Chiefs assistant offensive line coach.  G Brian Waters participated in the 2009 Pro Bowl after working with D’Alessandris and the Kansas City coaching staff.  In 2009, the Chiefs offensive line helped pave the way to RB Jamaal Charles’s first 1,000-yard rushing season (1,120 yards).

Prior to joining Kansas City, he spent 2002-07 as the offensive line coach for Georgia Tech.  Below is a list of some of his accomplishments achieved by Georgia Tech’s offense under D’Alessandris:

Offensive line paved the way for one of the ACC’s most prolific rushing attacks

Rushing offense produced a ACC-high 2,591 rushing yards (199.3 yards per game)

Offensive line helped RBs P.J. Daniels (2003) and Tashard Choice (2006-07) to lead the ACC in rushing

In 2005, offensive line led the ACC in fewest sacks allowed with 10.0;  offense also ranked third in rushing in the ACC; T Nat Dorsey and C Hugh Reilly earned first team All-ACC honors

Five linemen who played under D’Alessandris spent time on an NFL roster

D’Alessandris coached the  Duke offensive line from 1997-2001 where five linemen went on to the NFL.  He also spent one-year stints at the University of Pittsburgh (1996) and Texas A&M (1994).  A&M finished the season 10-0-1 and averaged 172.0 yards rushing in 1994.

D’Alessandris also has experience coaching in the CFL (Ottawa Rough Riders – 1990 and Memphis Mad Dogs – 1995).  D’Alessandris and Coach Gailey first began working together in the World League with the Birmingham Fire (1991-92).  They also worked together in 1993 with Samford where D’Alessandris served as the assistant head coach/offensive line coach.  D’Alessandris also coached at UT-Chattanooga, Memphis, Livingston University and began his coaching career at Western Carolina University.
