Gamble is entering his second season with the Buffalo Bills. Gamble primarily trains Bills offensive and defensive linemen, linebackers and tight ends.

     Gamble is entering his third season with the Buffalo Bills.  Gamble primarily trains the Bills offensive and defensive linemen, linebackers and tight ends.

 

     Gamble joined the Bills after spending the past 16 seasons with the Miami Dolphins.  For the first 12 years of his career in Miami, Gamble served as the team’s strength and conditioning coach.  Gamble and current Bills Head coach Chan Gailey worked together during the 2000 and 2001 seasons while Gailey was Miami’s offensive coordinator.  In 1998, Gamble was named Coach of the Year by the Professional Strength Coaches Society.

 

     From 2006-2009, Gamble served as Miamio’s Director of Player Development.  Gamble assisted players in the transition process both into and out of the NFL through continuing education, financial education and dealing with family matters through player programs.

 

     Prior to joining the Dolphins, Gamble served as the head strength and conditioning coach at the University of Virginia from 1984-93.  He was the assistant strength coach from 1982-83 and worked part-time at Virginia for one season in 1981.  He was named 1985 Strength Coach of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

 

 

PERSONAL

     A world renowned powerlifter, Gamble was the No. 1-ranked powerlifter in the world in the 275-pound class from 1981 to 1983. His personal records for total pounds in three lifts while competing in the United States Powerlifting Federation was 2,270 pounds, and he has personal bests of full squat, 892 lbs.; bench press, 573 lbs.; and dead lift, 826.5 lbs. in those three lifts. Gamble was inducted into the U.S. Weightlifting Hall of Fame in York, Pa., in June of 1999. … Played linebacker at Hampton University and was a first-team Black College All-America selection. He also earned All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors in football and in track and field. … Married to Sharon, the couple has three sons, John Nathan III, Austin Craig and Tucker Scott.
