COMMUNITY: Not only is Bryan very talented on the field, he is just as talented off the field. Bryan shared his gift of music and played the piano with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in front of 5,000 Buffalo Public School students. He is a great example to show students that you can play sports and get involved with the arts and be successful in both areas. Bryan is also featured in a PSA with BPO conductor JoAnn Falletta to join the two Buffalo teams together. To continue his love for music, Bryan joined the NFL Players Choir in Fair Park, Texas for the NFL Gospel Celebration. This was the 12th Annual Gospel Celebration which is held every year during the week leading up to the Super Bowl. The choir is made up of approximately 40 former and current NFL players.
Bryan is a very active member in the Play 60 Challenge as well. Bryan attended both the Kickoff Celebration and the Play 60 Fitness Party held in the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse. Bryan along with his teammates helped the students in attendance understand the importance of staying active for 60 minutes a day and assisted in running the football-themed fitness stations. Bryan also showed his support by visiting Armor Elementary in Hamburg, NY which was named the “Play 60 Super School” through the Back to Football Friday Program. Bryan participated in the Ultimate Physical Education Class and presented the $10,000 grant to the school so they can continue their health and wellness initiatives.
He also served as an active spokesperson for the Buffalo Bills Billieve Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Bryan attended the Light the Falls pink event on October 1st and took the stage with ease as they spoke to the crowd about the importance of early detection and raising awareness. Bryan also supported the league wide initiative by wearing pink cleats, gloves and wristbands during the BCA home game on October 3rd vs. the New York Jets.
Along with many of his teammates, Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo became a favorite place to visit for Bryan. Throughout the months of May, June and July, Bills players hosted a Cinco-de-Mayo party, Garden Stone Decorating parties and a Christmas in July party in the oncology and surgical floor playrooms. Players not only participated in arts and crafts, they also visited with patients and their families, signed autographs and posed for pictures.
Bryan participated in the 2010 Community Ticket Donation Program by donating 20 season tickets to various community groups in WNY. Over 200 people were part of B-Scott’s Buddies and attended Buffalo Bills home games where they were also treated to food and beverage coupons compliments of Bryan. He was also one of the spokespersons for the 2010 Kids Escaping Drugs Campaign “Take Pride in Making Strides.” With the help of Bryan raising awareness for the cause, Kids Escaping Drugs was able to raise $3,295 in a two hour autograph session.
Bryan participated in the Night out with the Bills which is put on by the Buffalo Pro Ministry Athletes in Action. The players in attendance shared stories about their views on faith, signed autographs and posed for pictures with over 700 members of the Buffalo Community.
In addition, he supported his teammates Brian Moorman and the PUNT Foundation as well as George Wilson and the S.A.F.E.T.Y. Foundation by attending their annual fundraising events in Buffalo. Bryan attended the Pottery Painting Party held in September and the Black Tie Gala in October for PUNT and the Thanksgiving event George put on in November.
