COMMUNITY: In 2010, David participated in the Toyota Rookie Club appearing at numerous community events throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario. The Toyota Rookie Club helps the franchises newest players become more involved in the Western New York community. Each month, David and all first year players did one community appearance as a group. The Toyota Rookie Club events included a visit to the Buffalo Zoo to celebrate the 12th Annual Hometown Huddle, a visit to the North York YMCA in North York, Ontario to unveil a new Youth Zone and a trip to the Northwest Buffalo Community Center in November where the Rookie Club Members served Thanksgiving Dinner to approximately 350 children and families. In addition to serving food, the players introduced themselves to the community members during a brief ceremony, sat and ate with them, and signed autographs. The final Rookie Club appearance of 2010 took place at the Annual Bills Holiday Party. The Rookie Club hosted 100 children from a number of different local community organizations. The Annual Holiday Party gives children from the organizations an opportunity to celebrate the holidays with the Bills players, Jills cheerleaders, Billy Buffalo and Santa Claus. The children received a holiday dinner, pictures and autographs and gifts from a wish list that they had previously submitted.

David supported the Teammates For Kids Foundation this year by attending their annual dinner held in November. David along with his other teammates have supported the cause which was co-founded by Garth Brooks and Bo Mitchell over the past 5 years. David also participated in the Night out with the Bills which is put on by the Buffalo Pro Ministry Athletes in Action. The players in attendance shared stories about their views on faith, signed autographs and posed for pictures with over 700 members of the Buffalo Community.

Along with many of his teammates, Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo became a favorite place to visit for David. Throughout the months of May, June and July, Bills players hosted a Cinco-de-Mayo party, Garden Stone Decorating parties and a Christmas in July party in the oncology and surgical floor playrooms. Players not only participated in arts and crafts, they also visited with patients and their families, signed autographs and posed for pictures. David along with many of his other teammates spent a day in July with the children of Stone’s Buddies at the Buffalo Zoo. David helped the children with arts and crafts, took them on a tour of the zoo, signed autographs and posed for pictures with the children and their families.

David also supported his teammate Brian Moorman and the PUNT Foundation by attending the Annual Black Tie Gala held in October of 2010, which raised over $80,000 benefitting children battling cancer.
