COLLEGE:  Started 37-of-39 games for the Hawkeyes, including 26 at right offensive tackle and 11 on the left side… registered 165 knockdowns with 22 touchdown-resulting blocks and eight blocks downfield in his final two seasons

2009: Second-team All-Big Ten Conference selection, earning honorable mention from the league’s coaches… selected to compete in East-West Shrine Game… started 11 games at right tackle before starting the Orange Bowl at right guard…part of an offensive unit that averaged 336.3 yards in total offense and 222.1 yards passing per game

PERSONAL: History major… attended three different high schools, lettering in football, basketball and track at Belleville (Belleville, IL) East High School… named first-team All-City and All-Conference while at Belleville East… tabbed one of the top 10 prospects in the St. Louis region by ESPN… 2004 NIKE Camp invitee… added All-Conference honorable mention while primarily playing tight end and defensive tackle during his junior campaign… lettered four times in track and three times in basketball, picking up All-Conference honors as a center during junior year… moved to Tucson, AZ after his senior year ended at Belleville East, but was not done playing football as his new school, Cienega (Tucson, AZ) High was in the Arizona state playoffs
