  • At NYJ (10/18): Recorded a team-high 61 yards rushing on 19 carries
  • At CAR (10/25): Led the team with 40 yards rushing on 17 carries along with one touchdown – the team’s first rushing score of the year

  • Scored the team’s first touchdown of the season with a 21-yard rushing score vs. Sea (9/7)… finished with 76 yards on 18 carries and tied OJ Simpson with 14th consecutive game of 60 or more rushing yards, the second longest streak ever by a Bill… streak was longest to start a Bills career… rushed for a touchdown in consecutive season-openers
  • At Jac. (9/14), put Buffalo on the board with a 11-yard rushing touchdown, capping off the team’s first offensive series… finished the day with 59 rushing yards on 19 carries and had one catch for eight yards… became the first Bill since Travis Henry in 2003 to rush for touchdowns in the first two games of a season
  • Posted his first career-multi touchdown game vs. Oak.   • Notched his sixth 100-yard game of his career at NYJ (12/14), gaining 127 yards on 21 attempts… eclipsed the 1,000-yard plateau on the season for the second straight year and became the third Bill to top 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons, joining Joe Cribbs and Willis McGahee… also became the 13th Bill with 2,000 career rushing yards, reaching the milestone in his 27th career game, joining Cookie Gilchrist and Travis Henry as the third quickest running backs to accomplish the feat in team history

  • Finished with 1,115 yards on 280 carries with seven touchdowns in 13 games … Had the most yards rushing by a Bills rookie since 1980 (Joe Cribbs, 1,185) … Seven rushing touchdowns tied for third among Bills rookies
  • Rookie rushing yardage and rushing attempts totals rank second in team history
  • Finished first in the NFL in rushing attempts per game (21.5)… Fifth in the AFC with an 85.8 yards per game average
  • Rushed for at least 61 yards in all 13 games he played (the team’s longest streak since Travis Henry’s 13-game streak in 2003-04)
  • Third Bills rookie running back with three 100-yard games, joining Cribbs (1980) and Greg Bell (1984)

  • Teamed with QB Trent Edwards (1,650 passing yards) to become the fourth rookie quarterback-running back duo to reach 1,000 yards passing and rushing since the NFL merger in 1970.
  • Made NFL debut and first career start on Kickoff Weekend vs. Den. (9/9)… scored his first career touchdown and rushed for 90 yards … was the eighth Bills rookie running back to start Kickoff Weekend and produced more yards than any Bills rookie running back in opener.

  • Scored team’s only touchdown in 13-10 victory at Mia (11/11) … posted 61 yards on 19 carries … converted team’s first two-point conversion since November 11, 2001 … injured his ankle in fourth quarter and missed the next three games
  • Returned to action vs. Mia (12/9) and posted 107 yards for his second career 100-yard effort … along with Fred Jackson (115 yards) became the first Bills running back duo to rush for over 100 yards in the same game since Darick Holmes-122 and Thurman Thomas-107 vs. Was (11/3/96)
  • Finished the season with 105 yards at Phi. (12/30) for his third 100-yard game of his rookie campaign

 

COLLEGE: Became the fourth player in Cal history to rush for over 3,000 yards…ranked second overall in rushing yards in school history with 3,230…only the second player in school history to gain over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons (2005 – 1,246; 2006 – 1,356)…holds the Cal record for most 100 yards rushing games (17)…became the fourth player in school history to amass over 4,000 all-purpose yards…ranks 10th in school history with an average of 22.5 yards per kickoff return)…ranks eighth all time at Cal on the scoring list (210 points)…holds the third and fourth spot on the single season rushing record list at Cal (fourth – 1,246 yds in ’05 and third - 1,356 yds in ’06)…holds the third and sixth spot on the single season all purpose yards record list at Cal (third – 1,785 yds in ’06 and sixth – 1,642 yds in ’05). … In 2006, was named Pac 10 Offensive Player of the Year…All-Pac 10 Conference first team…All-American first team selection by The NFL Draft Report and the American Football Coaches Association… received the Bear Backer Award as the teams Most Valuable Player…led the conference in both rushing (104.3 ypg) and all-purpose yardage (137.3 ypg) … Majored in social welfare.

COMMUNITY: Along with former Bills players Ryan Denney and Derrick Dockery, Marshawn served as a spokesperson for the Buffalo Bills “Billieve” Campaign in 2008.  Marshawn volunteered at the “Billieve” Breast Cancer Awareness autograph signing of Bills “Billieve” merchandise at the Bills Store in Orchard Park.  Five dollars from the sale of each “Billieve” pink logo item goes to the Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

 

In 2007, Marshawn was a member of the Toyota Rookie Club.  The Toyota Rookie Club helps the franchises newest players become more involved in the Western New York community.  Each month, Marshawn and all first year players did one community appearance as a group.  During the 2007 season the Rookie Club visited Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, participated in an assembly at Sir Sanford Fleming Academy in Toronto, ON, served Thanksgiving Dinner at Northwest Buffalo Community Center, and hosted the Annual Bills Holiday Party for children at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
