COMMUNITY
Corey was instrumental in serving as a frontman for the 6th Annual 97 Rock Operation: Rock Out Hunger to benefit the Food Bank of WNY. Corey teamed up with DJ Jickster and kicked off the campaign with a $1,250 donation. From there, Corey went even further and pledged to donate $1.00 for every item donated within the hour he was scheduled to appear. Over the course of the next hour, Corey and the rest of the participants collected 3,800 items. Corey and his teammates also met fans, took photos and signed autographs at the Quaker Steak and Lube location in Williamsville.
Corey continued his community support throughout the holidays as he brought some young fans to the Galleria Mall and purchased gifts through the Corey McIntyre Foundation Holiday Shopping event.
On September 27th, more than 2,800 Buffalo and Orchard Park area elementary school students packed the auditorium at Kleinhans Music Hall for the Play 60 Challenge Annual Kickoff event. Corey was one of 14 Bills players who addressed the students and encouraged them to get motivated toward a healthy and active lifestyle.
In November, Corey served as one of 18 Bills players who travelled to Holland, NY to formally announce H.O. Brumstead Elementary as the Buffalo Bills “Play 60 Super School.” The school received a $10,000 grant for health and wellness initiatives and held an Ultimate Physical Education class led by Bills players.
By participating in the Bills’ Community Ticket Program, Corey was able to assist numerous young fans throughout the season. McIntyre Blast Pack was on hand each game and also received food and beverage coupons compliments of Corey.
Corey continued his work with area youth when he appeared on the turf at Ralph Wilson Stadium during the High School Player Development camp – a free football clinic offered to area youth and sponsored by the New York State National Guard. Corey and several Bills teammates appeared on the camp’s last day to help run participants through drills and give them pointers on their technique.
