PERSONAL: At Randolph Henry High School under Coach Joe Freeland, recorded 60 tackles (16 for losses) and six sacks as a senior…caused four fumbles, recovered three…had 98 carries for 648 yards and six touchdowns as well as two receptions for nine yards as a fullback…converted 4 of 6 PAT’s…named first-team all-state…also played baseball, basketball and ran track…advanced to state championships in the shot put and discus as a junior, placing fourth in the discus.
COMMUNITY: John participated in the Kids Escaping Drugs Telethon by giving away footballs, autographs, assisting volunteers and answering phones to help support the Telethon. John also participated in the autograph signing at the Verizon Wireless Store in the McKinley Mall as apart of the Kids Escaping Drugs Campaign. The Campaign was created with the purpose of raising funds for the construction and support of adolescent drug & alcohol treatment facilities. In addition to his work with K.E.D., John also participated in the 2009 NFL Draft Day Party, meeting season ticket holders, taking pictures and signing autographs.
