CAREER:

  • In 2006, caught touchdowns in three consecutive games to become the first Bills TE since Charley Ferguson in 1963 to record a three-game touchdown streak

2007:

  • Played in all 16 games, with 15 starts
  • Posted a career-high 25 catches for 248 yards and three touchdowns
  • Matched his career-high with four catches vs. Dal. (10/8) and at Was. (12/2)
  • Caught two touchdown passes vs. Mia. (12/9), marking his first career multiple touchdown game...first multi-TD game for a Bills tight end since Mark Campbell vs. STL (11/21/04).

COLLEGE:
Finished his college career at LSU with 59 receptions for 707 yards (12.0 avg) and seven touchdowns while starting 24 of 42 games...Royal's career reception and yardage totals rank third in LSU history among tight ends, while his TD total of seven ranks second...as a senior, he was an All-SEC first-team selection and earned second-team honors from the Associated Press... he also received the Eric Andolsek Leadership Award for his performance and was one of three team captains for LSU...in the SEC Championship against Tennessee, Royal caught 2 passes for 17 yards... he hauled in two catches for 15 yards and a seven-yard touchdown in the Sugar Bowl against Illinois...Graduated in August 2001 with a degree in kinesiology.

PERSONAL:
Royal tallied 80 tackles and 10 sacks at defensive end his senior year at Karr (New Orleans, LA) High School...primarily a blocker, he also posted nine catches for 177 yards, an average of 19.7 yards per catch during his senior season...he cites his role model as his grandmother, Shirley Jackson...a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity...his cousin, Donald Royal played in the NBA... served as co-spokesman for the Buffalo Bills and American Red Cross Blood Drive...active in his T.E.A.M. 84 Camp...is a native of New Orleans, LA...Has a daughter, Skky.

COMMUNITY:
As the spokesperson for the Buffalo Bills & American Red Cross Blood Drive, Robert greeted donors and encouraged community support. Over 300 fans came to Ralph Wilson Stadium to donate blood in 2007. This Blood Drive broke the record for the most double reds collected at one site on a single day. Robert not only thanked the donors but rolled up his sleeve and personally donated as well.  Robert also participated in the 2007 Community Ticket Donation Program through donating 20 season tickets to various community organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hillside Children's Center, Police Athletic League, Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo, Breast Cancer Survivors, and Northwest Buffalo Community Center. Over 200 people were part of Royal's Rascals and attended Buffalo Bills home games where they were also treated to food and beverage coupons compliments of Robert.
