Bills release RB Chris Ivory

092418-chris-ivory

The Bills made some room at the running back position as the club decided to release veteran RB Chris Ivory.

Ivory, 31, signed a two-year contract with the Bills last offseason and appeared in 13 games for Buffalo during the 2018 campaign. Ivory rolled up 385 rushing yards and a touchdown on 115 carries, and another 205 yards on 13 receptions.

He played a reserve role behind LeSean McCoy and was used in short yardage and goal line situations.

That role however, was likely compromised by the addition of free agent signee Frank Gore, who was signed earlier this month.

Ivory, a nine-year NFL veteran, has played for four teams in his NFL career and has over 5,200 rushing yards.
