Bills sign defensive end Bryan Cox Jr.

The Buffalo Bills have added defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. to their roster. Cox Jr. joins the team on a one-year deal.

The defensive end most recently played for the Cleveland Browns. He appeared in six games last season registering a half sack, 12 tackles, two for loss and five quarterback hits.

Cox Jr. was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Florida in 2017. The defensive end played for the Panthers from 2017 to 2019. In his career, Cox Jr. has totaled a half sack, 30 tackles, five for loss and nine quarterback hits. Cox Jr. is a native of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Although he didn't overlap in Carolina with Bills general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott, he joins a group of former Panthers on the current Bills roster. Cox Jr. played in Carolina with defensive tackle Vernon Butler, defensive end Mario Addison and offensive tackle Daryl Williams. The newest Bill will be reunited with his former defensive line coach Eric Washington who was the Panthers defensive line coach from 2011 to 2017 and the defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2019.

The defensive end joins a strong defensive line room full of new talent including Butler, Addison, defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson and defensive end A.J. Epenesa.
