1. CBS Sports gives Buffalo this grade for Week 1

CBS' John Breech gave out his week 1 grades and the Bills earned a B+ for their performance.

Josh Allen almost gave this game away in the first half with four turnovers, but thanks to a brilliant performance from Buffalo's defense, the Jets weren't able to break this game open despite two interceptions and two lost fumbles from Allen. After an ugly first half, Allen rebounded in the fourth quarter by leading an 80-yard scoring drive that ended with a game-winning 38-yard TD pass to John Brown. One other bit of good news that Bills got is the fact that Devin Singletary came up big. Thanks to the rookie running back's performance -- four carries for 70 yards -- no one is going to be second-guessing Sean McDermott's decision to cut LeSean McCoy.

The Jets earned a D for the loss. Their offense just scored one touchdown which was a nine-yard pass to Le'Veon Bell in the third quarter.

2. NFL's Adam Schein: Toughness, togetherness, talent on display

NFL.com's Adam Schein made a list of his week 1 winners and the Bills made the list at No. 9. Schein was impressed by Buffalo's character in their fourth quarter comeback win against the Jets.

It's well-documented that I'm in on this team. I pegged Buffalo as my Cinderella team in April and picked the Bills to make the playoffs in August. And their effort on Sunday undoubtedly bolstered my feelings.

Wide receiver John Brown caught a 38-yard pass from quarterback Josh Allen to score the winning touchdown in the comeback win. Schein is a fan of the culture head coach Sean McDermott is building in Buffalo.

The toughness, togetherness and talent was on display, as the Bills erased a 16-0 third-quarter deficit to beat the rival Jets on the road. Don't be surprised. This is what the Bills are under Sean McDermott. This is what to expect from this defense late in games. This is what to expect from the Josh Allen-John Brown connection.

The NFL.com columnist believes the Bills will have a great start to the season.

I'm calling for a 4-0 Bills start, which will include a win over the Patriots.

3. Jordan Poyer: Coach Frazier called a hell of a game

Safety Jordan Poyer joined One Bills Live this week to discuss the 17-16 win over the Jets on Sunday. The defense returned 10 of 11 starters with their only new addition being rookie Ed Oliver. Poyer likes how this defense clicks.

"It's a different group than you would think," Poyer said. "Guys fighting for each other, guys playing for each other. When stuff went south for us, nobody blinked. We always talk about calm breeds calm and nobody blinked. We just went out there and did what we had to do."

Poyer led the team with nine tackles. He also had one and a half tackles for loss and one sack. The safety said in the second half of the game quarterback Josh Allen went over to the defensive huddle to encourage the team to get the ball back because the offense was ready to score.

"That's our quarterback, that's the type of player he is," Poyer said. "I'll go into battle with him every Sunday from here till the rest of my career. That's the type of competitor he is and he's a fun teammate to play with."

Poyer liked the way the defense was able to control Jets quarterback Sam Darnold in the pocket. He explained the defense executed their plan to keep Darnold in the pocket and not let him use his feet to scramble and make throws on the run.

"The coaching staff had an amazing plan defensively," Poyer said. "Coach Frazier called a hell of a game. Bringing pressure from every which way. Keeping Sam [Darnold] guessing, keeping their offensive coordinator guessing where we were bringing pressure from. Moving them off the spot, he was eventually just trying to get the ball out of his hands quick."
