JP Losman - Practice

QB JP LOSMAN

Practice – August 22, 2007

On if it is time to go home…

Yes we're ready to move out of here. It was a great camp. We got a lot accomplished. We accomplished what we wanted to do. We knew that it was going to take a lot of work and to get everyone here for as long as it was about a month, it was definitely worth it. Now we have a test this week and we want to show what we've been working on this whole time. We want to put something together.

On if he is looking forward to playing at least a half…

Yes, at least a half and maybe even a quarter to start the second half just to prepare myself that if you go in at half time you still want to come out and be sharp. So I would like to see that. Depending on how we're going and how our rhythm is and hopefully we're moving.

On if the offense needs to play at least a half…

I guess it would be nice. Of course it would be nice to go in there and have a rhythm but if it doesn't happen it is not the end of the world. Like I said, we are very, very confident and when it comes down to when you have to game plan for an actual team and setup some plays, we're going to be pretty dangerous.

On if more people on this team know their roles and the offense better than last year…

Yes, you start at the receivers. Lee knows exactly what his role is and it goes for Josh Reed and Roscoe and Peerless. And same thing with Marshawn and the rest of the backs. And then the offensive line is jelling like we want them to be. So I guess you can say that everyone knows their role and like I said it is the preseason and we are to a certain extent trying to protect ourselves. Not trying to show our hand too much. But at the same time, if we can show a rhythm and be positive with all that said then that's a bonus.

On how Marshawn Lynch has handled the passing game…

We're looking to get him more involved in game situations as it goes on. You guys have seen the practices now. We're out here experimenting with some routes, seeing what he can do and he's pretty much doing it all right now. The big thing for him is going to be the pass protection and to see if he can see these things on the run, live and all the time. In practice, we're going through walk-thrus and he's doing pretty well. When it comes live, they're going to be coming full speed. It's going to be his biggest challenge this year.
