Matt Milano named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Milano-AFC-DPOW

Matt Milano had a defender's hat trick in last Sunday's shocking win at Minnesota, and it was ample production to earn AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week 3.

Milano posted a sack, a fumble recovery and an interception in Buffalo's resounding 27-6 victory over the Vikings. He also contributed eight tackles, a quarterback hit and a pair of pass breakups.

"Matt made some big plays for us," said Bills head coach Sean McDermott. He had a sack, a fumble recovery and an interception. You can make big plays when you play within the defense and play disciplined and with great effort."

It's the first league honor for the second-year linebacker, who currently ranks second on the team in tackles.

For the Bills, Milano is the first AFC Defensive Player of the Week winner since Nickell Robey-Coleman won it in Week 5 of the 2016 season.
