No. 9 - DT Ed Oliver, Houston

The Bills allowed 17 rushing touchdowns last season, and Oliver excels in a one-gap scheme like Buffalo's 4-3 defense. (McShay)

No. 40 - WR N'Keal Harry, Arizona State

Let's get a weapon for Josh Allen. Harry has terrific hands, though he isn't a burner. (Kiper)

No. 74 - TE Dawson Knox, Ole Miss

Knox is one of the most underrated offensive prospects in this class. In this scenario, we're getting help for Josh Allen with Knox and wideout N'Keal Harry at No. 40. (Kiper)

No. 9 – T Andre Dillard, Washington State

It's been popular to have the Bills target a defensive lineman here but offensive line makes a lot of sense too with second-year quarterback Josh Allen. Dillard is the best pass-blocking tackle in this draft and Allen was sacked 28 times in 12 games as a rookie.

No. 40 – DT Dexter Lawrence, Clemson

At 340 pounds, there are questions about whether Lawrence is a three-down player. But don't be fooled by his size because his athleticism is eye-popping. Buffalo gets their middle-of-the-DL anchor a round after getting a franchise left tackle.

No. 74 – CB Joejuan Williams, Vanderbilt

A long, physical corner who has had a strong pre-draft season and will match up well against bigger NFL receivers.

No. 9 – DT Ed Oliver, Houston

I struggled with where to place Oliver, who has tremendous athleticism but because of his smaller size and length (6' 2", 280-ish pounds) requires a specific scheme fit as a three-technique in a 4-3 defense. He's a match in both scheme and need for the Bills, who just lost Kyle Williams to retirement.

No. 9 – TE T.J. Hockenson, Iowa

Hockenson would quickly emerge as the best friend of Josh Allen and LeSean McCoy. He helps in both the passing and running game.

No. 9 – DE Brian Burns, Florida State

Effortless explosiveness, springy agility, and a variety of pass-rush moves give him immense upside, but he'll need to prove he can keep his newly added weight on in the pros.

No. 9 – WR D.K. Metcalf, Mississippi

There may be no better pairing of skillsets in the draft than Josh Allen's howitzer combined with D.K. Metcalf's speed and catch radius. The Bills made a concerted effort to surround their young QB with more talent, but they still don't have what Metcalf brings to the table.

No. 9 – DT Ed Oliver, Houston

No. 40 – T Greg Little, Mississippi

In this ideal scenario, the Bills get to rebuild their fronts with an explosive, penetrating interior lineman who can rush the passer and one of the few true left tackles in the draft.

No. 9 – DT Ed Oliver, Houston

Oliver is too good to let drop further than No. 9. There are a number of directions Buffalo could go with this pick, namely an offensive tackle like Jawaan Taylor or a pass rusher like Rashan Gary. But Oliver carries a higher grade and would give Buffalo a nice combination of Oliver and Harrison Phillips.
