For the second straight year Jason Peters was named a starter for the AFC in the Pro Bowl, and for the second straight year Peters will not participate in the game on Feb. 8 in Honolulu.
At this point no official reason has been given for his inability to participate although Peters did miss the last two games of the 2008 regular season with a knee injury.
Replacing Peters will be Miami Dolphins rookie left tackle Jake Long.
Peters made his first Pro Bowl following the 2007 season, but could not play in the game due to a sports hernia that forced him to miss the last game of the regular season. He underwent surgery in mid-January last year and had to be replaced on the Pro Bowl roster.
