Terry Pegula: Buying Bills is the realization of a dream

STATEMENT FROM TERRY PEGULA FROM NEW YORK

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

**

NFL Owners gathered in New York City and approved the sale of the Bills to the Pegula family on October 8, 2014.

Opening Statement:** Kim and I are honored the NFL owners have approved us as the new owners of the Buffalo Bills. We'd like to thank the owners for their support. As we said earlier, we're not going to take any questions today, but this is a significant step in owning the team, but we still don't own it yet. There's a small matter of having to pay some money – wires have to be sent from banks, paperwork has to be signed. We'll get that done. We're going to head back to Buffalo tonight or tomorrow morning. We'll be at our Sabres home opener tomorrow evening. Friday will probably be the day when we'll speak to you all as the owners of the Bills.

Thank you.

SHORT Q&A WITH TERRY PEGULA

Q: Is this the realization of a dream?

A: Yes it is. ... If you asked me 10 years ago if I was going to own the Sabres and the Bills, I would have called you a liar.

Q: When did you really decide to pursue this opportunity to make this purchase on the team?

A: It goes back further than you may think. I obviously, when I was asked when I bought the Sabres if I was interested in the Bills do you expect me to say yes? (chuckling) But it goes back further than you may imagine.

Q: Did you get a good deal

A: I got a hell of a deal. I own the team.
