Vladimir Ducasse to start in place of John Miller

The Bills inactive list was expected to have a few new names this week with the injuries suffered by Jordan Matthews, Ramon Humber and E.J. Gaines. But there was also a lineup change on Buffalo's offensive line as Vladimir Ducasse will start at right guard in place of John Miller.

It's no secret that Buffalo's run game has not met the level of success it has enjoyed each of the past two seasons when it finished first in the league in both yards and yards per carry average. The Bills run game currently ranks 17th in the NFL. Whether this change was precipitated by that is a question for head coach Sean McDermott.

Ducasse and Miller battled all through training camp and the preseason for the starting right guard job, which ultimately was won by Miller entering the season. He made four straight starts there for the Bills while Ducasse was inactive. Now the two will flip roles as Miller is inactive for today's game against the Bengals.

Meanwhile, cornerback E.J. Gaines is inactive due to the groin injury he suffered last week in Atlanta. He was unable to practice on Friday and was questionable coming into the game. Fellow CB Shareece Wright is active despite being listed as questionable with a back injury. He's expected to start opposite Tre'Davious White.

The Bills also called rookie CB Greg Mabin up from the practice squad to provide depth at the position.

Here's the full list of Buffalo's inactives.

G John Miller
OT Conor McDermott
TE Khari Lee
WR Jordan Matthews

DT Jerel Worthy
