Six years ago, the Buffalo Bills Foundation dedicated its efforts to addressing child hunger and increasing access to nutritious foods for families in Western New York. Since 2020, the Bills Foundation has distributed more than $9.5 million to the Western New York community through grant-making, community response efforts, and the NFL Foundation grant program. This year, the Bills Foundation reached a $2 million milestone in distributed community grants.
"Reaching the $2 million milestone in grant-making this year is a testament to the power of partnership and the generosity of our community," said Michelle Roberts, Executive Director of the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Buffalo Bills Community Impact VP. "Together with our nonprofit partners and supporters, we're able to make meaningful strides in addressing food access across Western New York."
With nearly one in five children facing food insecurity, access to fresh and healthy food remains limited, especially in neighborhoods impacted by food deserts. The Bills Foundation supports a wide range of organizations and programs that uplift farmers, provide access to nutritious foods, teach nutritional education, support workforce development, and organizational capacity building.
"The Buffalo Bills Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in our region by fighting against food insecurity," said Dr. Thomasina Stenhouse, Buffalo Bills Foundation President. "By collaborating with similarly focused philanthropies, we are using our collective strength to ensure that nutritious, culturally relevant food is available, accessible, and acquirable throughout our region."
