We began the show recapping who and who did not opt-out following Thursday's deadline. We heard from Bills TE Dawson Knox as he readies for year two in the NFL. We got into our Friday mailbag and we were joined by ESPN NFL Nation Reporter Marcel Louis-Jacques as we kicked around some of the biggest Bills topics as we approach a unique 2020 season.

We took a look at the player opt-out scenarios as the Thursday's deadline approaches. We heard for the first time from Bills WR Stefon Diggs and teammates Devin Singletary & Josh Norman. Yahoo! Sports' Frank Schwab joined us to give his latest Power Rankings, his 2020 season preview for the Bills, and the latest from around the NFL.

We talked about what we think the Bills mindset should be entering the 2020 season. Executive Director of the Moorad Center at Villanova Andrew Brandt discussed the player opt-outs, how teams may react to an increase in COVID cases, and how the changes to the 2021-2022 cap will affect teams (1:30:25).

We discussed if the COVID-19 outbreaks in MLB should prompt the NFL to enhance their protocols and policies. We also heard from Bills LB Tremaine Edmunds during his media availability (7:50). Former Bills guard Ruben Brown joined One Bills Live on August 4, 2020 where he congratulated Bills Insider Chris Brown on his new gig as host of OBL. He also discussed what he's up to during the quarantine and his thoughts on a unique 2020 NFL season.

We discussed the biggest way the on-field product will be different at the start of this season. We heard from Bills safety Jordan Poyer during his media availability (12:10). Boston Globe's Ben Volin talked about the player opt-outs, camps opening up around the league, if he thinks Cam Newton could be the Patriots starting QB, and other news out of New England (47:45). Business of College Sports Reporter for the Sports Business Journal Michael Smith discussed what college sports may look like amid COVID-19 concerns and if he thinks they will play this season (1:31:50).

We discussed how the NFL may be impacted by what is happening in the MLB with COVID-19 concerns. He also talked about the player opt-outs from the perspective of a player, the process of learning how to handle success, and how he's doing during the pandemic.

We discussed which position groups will have the most important battles during training camp. Current Eagles and former Bills WR Marquise Goodwin discussed his decision to opt out of the 2020 NFL season (51:53). NFL Network's Kim Jones discussed the player opt-outs, how the preseason is going so far, shared why she thinks the Bills have had the best offseason of any NFL team, and talked about the fallout from the Jamal Adams trade for the Jet (1:33:36).

We discussed how a tilt in the playing field in the NFL would sit with us, knowing competitive balance will be impossible this season due to COVID-19. We also talked about Josh Allen getting ranked at No. 87 on the NFL's Top 100 Players list. Editor-in-Chief of Football Outsiders Aaron Schatz went in-depth on the Jamal Adams trade, discussed the Bills defense being projected to be the best in the league, and what he thinks Stefon Diggs could bring to the Bills this season (52:06).

He discussed the upcoming episode, the NFL continuing to play amid COVID-19 concerns, and shared his thoughts on the 2020 Bills.

We discussed contract extensions for coaches and when we think Sean McDermott should have his contract extended. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero shared his thoughts on the recent issues that have arisen out of Washington, the allegations against Woody Johnson and discussed changes the NFL and teams are making to create a more diverse and inclusive environment within the franchises. Pelissero also talked about the latest with NFLPA/NFL negotiations, return to play initiatives and Antonio Brown looking to return to the league (50:48). Bills Insider Chris Brown continued the 'Camp Countdown 2020' with who are the training camp sleepers (1:34:18).

We talked about which Bills rookies we are going to miss watching with no preseason this year. We also continued our 'Camp Countdown 2020' discussion with 3 reasons why the Bills should be able to make up for lost time in the spring. NBC Sports' Peter King shared his thoughts on everything going on in Washington, what he learned from visiting the Vikings facility in preparations for COVID-19, and the economic impact of this year (49:58).

We discussed where we would rank Josh Allen and Sean McDermott among QB/Coach duos in the NFL. Bills Insider Chris Brown ranked QB/Coach duos in the league (46:30). The Athletic's Daniel Kaplan talked about the challenges on naming rights to stadiums, the likelihood of the league beginning camps and protocols the NFL and NFLPA are discussed for the beginning of the season (45:59). Former Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander discussed NFL protocols with beginning training camps, the name changes of the Washington football team, and shared his thoughts on the racial injustices society is facing and the reaction from the NFL (1:30:55).

We discussed which Bills defensive lineman will have the biggest impact in 2020.
