Bills 2008 record breakers

This season didn't live up to expectations with respect to a playoff berth, but in 2008 there were several team and individual player records broken. With special thanks to team statistician Mike Haim, here are some of the more notable record-breaking accomplishments from the 2008 season.

Fewest penalties, 16-game season: 71 (old record: 78 in 2007)

Fewest penalty yards, 16-game season: 538 (old record: 629 in 2006)

Highest pass completion percentage, season: 64.51% (309-479)
(old record: 64.34% in 1991 (332-516))

Highest punt return average, season: 15.47 (30-464)
(old record: 15.35 (31-476) in 2007)

Individual player records set

Most consecutive passes completed: 16 Trent Edwards, 9/7 vs. Seattle (6) – 9/14 at Jacksonville (10)
(old record: 15, Jim Kelly, 12/23/89 at N.Y. Jets (1) – 9/9/90 vs. Indianapolis (14)

Highest pass completion percentage, career: 61.59% Trent Edwards (396-643)
