Bills add receiver to practice squad

With a vacant position on the practice squad following the promotion of Dustin Fox to the 53-man roster last week, the Bills signed free agent wide receiver Mike Jefferson.

Jefferson (6'1" 206) is a former undrafted free agent of the Dallas Cowboys and spent the 2007 season on the club's practice squad.

In 2008 Jefferson was again assigned to the team's practice squad, but was elevated to the active roster the day before the season opener for the Cowboys to serve as the team's fourth receiver due to injuries at the position, but did not play.

The next week he was waived and re-signed to the practice squad where he stayed until Oct. 27.

Jefferson finished his college career at Montana State where in his senior season he had 66 catches for 1,023 yards earning All-Big Sky honors. He played his three previous seasons at the University of Arizona, but transferred to get more playing time.

The Bills now have three receivers on their eight-man practice squad as Jefferson joins C.J. Hawthorne and Felton Huggins.
