Bills host LB Tarpinian

Pre-draft visits have been frequent for the Bills this spring and another prospect was at One Bills Drive Tuesday. Iowa inside linebacker Jeff Tarpinian was meeting with Buffalo's coaching staff in Orchard Park.

Tarpinian (6'2" 235) has not been a highly touted prospect likely due to an injury history, but he garnered some attention after his performance at Iowa's pro day late last month.

He posted 40 times in the mid 4.5s with a 37-inch vertical and a 10'6" broad jump.

Tarpinian battled through injuries as a senior appearing in just eight games contributing 47 tackles due to a broken hand at the start of the season. He also fought through injuries at the beginning of his redshirt freshman year and also missed time his sophomore season with a hamstring injury.

The Omaha native was a former defensive back in high school that was converted to linebacker at Iowa. He was named Nebraska's Gatorade Player of the Year.

Tarpinian also offers special teams experience having played on Iowa's coverage units. He has been forecast as a late round pick by NFL draft prognosticators.
