A day after placing DL on injured reservewith a torn quadriceps tendon, Buffalo used the vacant roster spot to add a defensive lineman. The Bills signed DL Jay Ross on Tuesday.

Ross (6'3" 319) was with the club all offseason and made the team's 53-man roster at the close of the preseason. However, when the Bills found themselves shorthanded at cornerback, Ross was released to give Buffalo the roster spot needed to promote CB from the practice squad two weeks ago.

With Carrington lost for the season, Ross provides Buffalo with a defensive linemen who can play both end and tackle and is familiar with Mike Pettine's defensive scheme.

Whether Ross is active for Sunday's game against the Ravens remains to be seen. Head coach Doug Marrone indicated Monday that DL Corbin Bryant would likely inherit most of Carrington’s snaps on defense moving forward.

Practice squad moveOn Tuesday the Bills also released DE Izaan Cross from the practice squad and signed Adewale Ojomo (pronounced ad-uh-WALL-ee o-JO-mo). Ojomo (6'4" 270) has appeared in one career NFL game with the New York Giants in 2012, the team he signed with after going undrafted last year.

He was last with the Seattle Seahawks where he spent a week on the club's practice squad. Ojomo played his college ball at the University of Miami.
