Bills release Jenkins; activate Stupar

Just hours prior to their opener against the Patriots in New England the Bills made one more roster move on the offensive side of the ball.

Buffalo released WR Justin Jenkins and signed TE Jonathan Stupar to the active roster. Stupar had been signed to the team's practice squad last week after being waived during final cuts.

The move was necessary to bolster the tight end position as Derek Fine is out for tonight's game due to a hamstring injury. It would have left the Bills with just a pair of healthy tight ends for the game in Derek Schouman and rookie Shawn Nelson.

Jenkins had spent the past two seasons with the Bills serving mainly on special teams.
