Bills release LB Jefferson

The Bills had to remove one more player from their roster prior to today's 4 pm league deadline to get down to a maximum of 80 players. Buffalo accomplished that with the release of LB Brad Jefferson.

The undrafted rookie out of Georgia Tech had the deck stacked against him as he ran primarily with the third team defense at inside linebacker. With Arthur Moats moving to inside linebacker and draft choices Kelvin Sheppard and Chris White also lining up inside, it was going to be difficult for Jefferson to win a roster spot.

The recent addition of veteran free agent Kirk Morrison only made the odds longer for Jefferson, who in three preseason games had 12 tackles for the Bills.

Buffalo's roster is now at the required 80. Come Saturday the roster must be reduced to 53 by 6 pm.
