Bills schedule Barkley for private workout

The Bills continued to do their due diligence in the pre-draft process, scheduling a private workout with USC quarterback Matt Barkley on Monday.

Barkley, who posted a solid performance at USC’s pro day last week, joins Geno Smith, Landry Jones and E.J. Manuel on the list of signal callers put through individual workouts with Buffalo.

A four-year starter, Barkley holds 20 career, season and single-game records for USC. The Newport Beach, Calif. native finished his college career ranked third in the USC record books in completions (755) and total offense (9,013 yards), while ranking fifth in Pac-12 history in career TD passes (80). Widely regarded as one of the top QB prospects in the 2013 draft class, Barkley also met with the Bills at the NFL Combine.
