It was a year full of excitement for Upstate New Yorkers pursuing a "golden" opportunity from Labatt Blue. In celebration of the Buffalo Bills 50th Anniversary, fans of Buffalo's favorite football team and beer searched inside specially-marked 12-packs of Labatt Blue for one of 50 golden cans.

Fifty lucky 'Golden Can' winners were awarded an Ultimate Buffalo Bills Prize Package featuring 50 special items and priceless team related experiences. As the Labatt Blue 'Golden Can' contest officially came to a close, winners received a prize-ending visit to this year's Bills training camp.

Throughout the promotion, 'Golden Can' winners received an invitation to attend the Buffalo Bills Draft Day party at the Buffalo Bills Field House at Ralph Wilson Stadium; home, away and throwback replica team jerseys; a 50th Anniversary autographed football; tickets to five Buffalo Bills home games; a meet and greet with Buffalo Bills All-Time Team members; a VIP tour of the Bills practice field, weight and training rooms; an autograph session at training camp; a heavyweight Buffalo Bills jacket and other branded Buffalo Bills 50th Anniversary items.

Dennis Scovazzo of Wheatfield found the first of 50 golden cans last August. Throughout the year, dozens more Labatt Blue fans claimed their prizes by redeeming their golden can tickets. Winners include: Marc R. Adams, Karine L. Amato, Nicholas S. Arganbright, Michael John Barno, Christopher Barrett, Beverly Bogner, Jim Boissonnault, Paul M. Cahill, Jack Cantie, Dale Robert Denison, Daniel Dusablon, Wayne D. Evans, Daniel Fellmeth, Zigmund Fuksa, Johnny Ray Garcia, Dylan Hipkens, Robert Allyn Joy III, Stephen P. Kelley, Michael Knittel, Joseph M. Lagamba, Andrew P. Liszewski, Bruce Logink, Thomas A. Lombardo, Bruce Michael Macey, William C. Murphy, Jeff Newman, Adam Pastecki, Matthew Renzi, Christopher M. Rosky, Michael Sereno, Robert Shoup, Steve Smith, Kenneth Sokolowski, Jason Swiers, Alex Szabo, Dustin Tower, Matthew Wahlers, Jason D. Weber, and Reginald Wood.

Consumers who didn't find a golden can were also treated to a surprise when they opened the specially-marked packs of Labatt Blue. Three retro-style, collectible cans highlighted some of the best moments in Bills' history. The cans featured: "The Hit Heard Round the World" from December 26, 1964; the "Greatest Comeback" from January 3, 1993; and "Count me in with Buffalo" in the summer of 1959, which marked the start of the Bills franchise in Buffalo.
