Galloway latest receiving weapon to visit Bills

With Laveranues Coles signing in Cincinnati, Buffalo wasted no time exploring other potential options to bolster their passing game Thursday as they welcomed free agent Joey Galloway to Orchard Park for a visit.

Galloway (5'11" 197), a 14-year veterean, spent the past five seasons with Tampa Bay where he posted three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons (2005-07) including a career high 1,287 yards in 2005. The veteran deep threat has six 1,000-yard seasons in his impressive career.

Last season however, was the first in eight years in which Galloway suffered a serious injury as a foot ailment forced him to miss seven games in what proved to be his final season with Tampa Bay. The foot will no doubt be under the microscope on any and all of his free agent visits.

In the two seasons prior to his injury-plagued 2008, Galloway averaged better than 17 yards per catch, proving he can still stretch the field even at age 37.

Buffalo has a crowded receiving corps right now with all six receivers on the roster last season under contract with the club for 2009. But Buffalo is looking to add another proven weapon to their passing game and Galloway would demand attention lined up on the outside opposite top wideout Lee Evans.
